Jean Jacques Waltz was fond of walking in the nature. He depicted his favorite walks with aquarelles in which he added Cadmium a chemical element which make the paint more difficult to use. For Uncle Hansi, the cadmium was something that a painter had to have because the pigmentation were much better and palpable. Thus, we found a palette on which there were information. For instance "paint with a lot of water" or also "use a big paintbrush". We can stop to a little representation of La Ligne de Chemin de Fer du Col de la Schlucht. Waltz did this aquarelle for a touristic project during the 1910's. Unfortunately, this project will be slowly forget because of the first World War. Nevertheless, Vosgian Landscape's aquarelles will be used later as Postcards for tourists. For Instance, many people will use the ones from the Mont Sainte Odile because this place always attracted many pilgrims.
