Hansi's crockery
Listen to the audio guide
The Hansi's work of art became more and more famous and some of them were adapt into toys, tablecloths, ... but the product which is now iconic is his crockery. Indeed, it became common to Alsatian Families to have a crockery in which if you finish your meal a surprise on the plate is waiting you. Each part of the crockery is decorated of a drawing from Hansi so you will maybe have his stork or some of his Alsatian children who made Hansi famous.
Hansi presented two services of crockeries : one for dinner and another for dessert. Hansi's crockery was product at a factory in Sarreguemine, and had the opportunity to be sell thanks to the magazine Les Annales. Interested buyers could order a crockery thanks to a subscription voucher placed in the magazine.
Nevertheless, Hansi's crockery wasn't the only one. Indeed, Henri Loux had also the opportunity to create his own crockery with his drawings on it. His style is much more realistic and sometimes we can think its photography because of the many details.
The Loux's style is the opposite of Hansi's. Indeed, Hansi preferred to be more minimalist and simple to make sure that everyone is able to understand what he wanted to show and also able to do a quick and easy read. Sometimes, during relatives meetings, the Hansi's crockery can be a good start for grandparents to tell to their grandchildren their memories.
